Job Description
For our client, we are looking for a Quality Systems & Food Safety Specialist (On-site) to support the quality team during a period of high workload. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the Quality Management System, supporting audit readiness, and driving practical improvements in food safety and process control across the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal procedures, and food safety/quality standards.
- Maintain, monitor, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and process control.
- Prepare for, participate in, and follow up on internal and external audits, including tracking and closing improvement actions.
- Safeguard certification requirements and contribute to timely renewals and ongoing compliance (e.g., IFS, HACCP and related standards).
- Act as a key point of contact for quality and process questions for production and quality stakeholders.
- Initiate and support improvement projects related to quality and process optimisation.
- Perform root cause analysis for deviations, complaints, or production blocks and ensure sustainable corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Coordinate and manage follow-up on quality issues in production, with a strong focus on prevention and risk control.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary improvement teams and contribute to a practical continuous improvement mindset.
- Manage external stakeholders such as laboratories, pest control partners, certifying bodies, and suppliers.
- Create and present KPIs, reports, and trend analyses to support decision-making.
- Support internal training sessions and toolbox meetings on quality and food safety topics.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within the quality team and keep knowledge of relevant regulations up to date.
Requirements
- Higher professional education (HBO) level in Food Technology, Food & Quality Management, Food Science, or a comparable field.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality systems (e.g., IFS, HACCP and related certification standards).
- Experience with audit preparation, audit participation, and follow-up of findings.
- Able to work with ERP and QA-related systems/tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate data into clear, practical advice.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

The role is based on-site in the Netherlands.
