Company
Our client is a modern food production business with a strong focus on quality, food safety, and efficient processes. The site operates with clear standards, structured working methods, and a team-based culture where people support each other to keep production running smoothly.
Job Description
We are looking for a Production Shift Foreman to support daily operations on the shop floor and help coordinate the shift team. This is a hands-on role: the successful candidate will work directly in production, packing and/or preparation, while also acting as the first point of contact for operators and supporting the team leaders in delivering the plan safely and to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organise daily tasks on shift to ensure smooth production flow in line with the day and week production plans.
- Provide operational direction to employees and agency staff, while also working alongside the team in production/packing/preparation.
- Give clear safety instructions and ensure compliance with company rules and health & safety requirements.
- Coach, motivate and support team members; contribute to training and onboarding and help identify development needs.
- Maintain and manage work instructions and procedures; spot deviations and report them to the line manager.
- Apply and promote workplace standards such as 5S and SMED, and support quality awareness on the line.
- Resolve minor line issues independently; escalate larger or complex breakdowns to technical support and provide a clear fault analysis, also shared with the manager.
- Work closely with Packaging & Logistics, QESH, and Technical teams to align activities and resolve issues.
- Cover for colleagues (including other departments) when needed.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and on time, within agreed standards, and keep the work area clean and organised.
Requirements
- MBO level of working and thinking, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a production environment.
- Knowledge and practical experience with HACCP and Food Defence.
- Understanding of allergens and food safety controls.
- Able to deliver safety instructions clearly to employees.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Comfortable taking decisions, working collaboratively, and coaching others.
- Good command of Dutch, both spoken and written.
- Willing to work in rotating shifts (early and late shifts).
Other Information
This role works in a rotating shift pattern, including early and late shifts.
