The Company
The client is a Dutch/Belgian food manufacturing company focused on frozen snacks, meal components, and private-label food products across Europe.

Role Description
As a Senior Product Developer, you will play a key role in shaping and expanding a future-focused portfolio of savory snack products, including mini snacks, cheese-based, chicken, and meat-free offerings across established brands. You will translate emerging market trends and technological developments into commercially viable and innovative products. Operating within a structured stage-gate development framework, you will independently drive product innovation while ensuring compliance with cost targets, regulatory requirements, and quality standards (including certifications such as IFS and halal). This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners, contributing to a dynamic and internationally oriented product development environment. You will report directly to the Category Lead Chicken and Meat Snacks.

Responsibilites

  • Monitoring global food trends and identify opportunities for new product concepts.
  • Leading end-to-end innovation projects, from ideation through to successful market launch.
  • Presenting product concepts and project updates clearly and persuasively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with customers and suppliers to support joint innovation initiatives.
  • Developing new formulations and optimize existing recipes to enhance product quality and performance.
  • Continuously improve production processes and manufacturing methods
  • Coordinating cross-functional product development activities with departments such as production, sales, quality, and finance.
  • Conducting factory trials, analyze results, and implement improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of recipes and ensure effective knowledge transfer to production teams.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in product development within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food products; expertise in cheese and/or chicken is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and manage projects independently.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Comfortable working in an international, cross-functional environment.
