Role Description
As a Manufacturing Process Technician, you will act as the technical expert on highly automated production lines, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will take ownership of troubleshooting complex process issues, performing root cause investigations, optimizing line performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams, you will play a key role in maximizing equipment performance while maintaining compliance with GMP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and optimize highly automated manufacturing equipment and production lines
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and waste reduction
- Monitor production performance using KPIs and identify opportunities to improve OEE and process stability
- Support machine changeovers, equipment settings, and process optimization activities
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to resolve technical and operational challenges
- Maintain accurate production documentation and ensure compliance with GMP and quality requirements
- Act as the technical expert on the production line while coaching and supporting fellow operators
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience within automated manufacturing or process technology (senior profiles also considered)
- Hands-on experience with highly automated production equipment and manufacturing processes
- Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills (e.g. 5 Why, Fishbone, Kaizen, TPM)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, OEE, or process optimization
- Technical background in Process Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or similar
- Experience with SAP, MES, or other manufacturing systems is highly desirable
- Experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, food, FMCG, chemical, automotive, or other highly automated manufacturing environments
- Willingness to work in a 3-shift schedule with the possibility of transitioning to a 5-shift operation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; GMP experience is an advantage but not essential
