Company
A leading manufacturing organisation dedicated to maintaining high standards of production efficiency and safety. The company operates in a fast-paced environment, supporting various pharmaceutical and manufacturing processes through advanced automation systems.

Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Automation Support Technician to join our client’s team. This hands-on role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of automated manufacturing equipment. The technician will be the first point of contact for automation issues on the production floor, troubleshooting and resolving system problems to minimise downtime and support continuous operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLC, SCADA, HMI, and other automation systems.
- Respond quickly to automation-related faults during daily production.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on automation equipment, focusing mainly on proactive measures to minimise breakdowns.
- Investigate recurring automation issues to identify trends and implement long-term solutions.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and automation engineering teams.
- Support ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Conduct basic to advanced troubleshooting in support of GMP manufacturing standards, ensuring compliance and high-quality output.
- Assist in automation system upgrades, project support, and documentation updates.
- Act as an escalation point for automation issues, particularly during night shifts when minimal support may be available.

Requirements
- MBO+ or equivalent technical education in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with automation systems in a manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Experience supporting automation maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of GMP standards and compliance procedures.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, for documentation and communication.
- Flexible to work in rotating shifts, including nights and occasional weekends.
- Ability to work independently and confidently resolve automation issues, especially during night shifts.

Other Information
During night shifts, there may not always be an automation engineer present, so the technician must be capable of handling issues independently. The role requires a flexible, proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic production environment.
