About the Role
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for delivering electrical and instrumentation engineering solutions across capital projects, maintenance, process, production, and R&D activities. The role has a strong focus on instrumentation, while requiring knowledge of electrical engineering and design, process automation, safety systems, and project execution. The position may also take the lead E&I engineering role within assigned project teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed and fully documented electrical and instrumentation designs in collaboration with engineering contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Lead E&I engineering activities across assigned projects, including technical solutions, estimates, schedules, quality, and budget management.
- Ensure engineering designs and project activities comply with relevant company standards, international codes, and safety requirements.
- Support commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving across electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Communicate engineering solutions and provide technical support to internal stakeholders including Maintenance, Operations, and Manufacturing Technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Automation, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Practical industrial experience, preferably within the chemical or process industry, with a strong focus on instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant electrical, instrumentation, process automation, and safety standards, including ATEX, NEN-EN-IEC 60079, NEN 1010, NEN 3140, NEN 3840, SIL, and SIS.
- Knowledge of electrical and control system design, power electronics, frequency drives, process automation, safety systems, functional/logical diagrams, and interlock matrices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills, with fluent Dutch and English.
