Job Description
For a major site expansion programme, we are looking for a Senior Automation Project Engineer (PLC/SCADA) to support automation projects from early design through implementation, testing and commissioning. This role is hands-on and collaborative, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to integrate new process equipment and deliver robust, well-documented automation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer technical automation solutions that fit project scope and site standards
- Translate user needs into functional requirements; perform risk assessments where needed
- Create and maintain technical system documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Support programming, upgrades and system testing in cooperation with vendors and internal teams
- Execute and document testing activities (e.g., FAT/SAT and qualification/validation testing)
- Help define scope for new work packages and support the project manager in planning
- Identify technical issues early and drive practical solutions to keep delivery on track
- Report progress, risks and deviations clearly to the project manager and project team
- Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team (engineering, validation, quality, production, IT)
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial automation projects
- Strong knowledge of PLC and DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA systems (iFix or similar)
- Experience with equipment engineering, commissioning and vendor integration on-site
- Familiarity with regulated environments (life sciences/pharma) and GAMP/GxP expectations
- Experience executing and documenting tests such as FAT/SAT and qualification/validation testing (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Comfortable working with basic network/IT topics (e.g., Windows/Active Directory) in an OT environment
- Fluent in English and Dutch Mandatory
- Willingness to travel within Europe when required
- Temporary Full Time Contract (1 year)
Other Information
This position is based on-site in Oss (North Brabant) and is part of a multi-year expansion programme with long-term project work and strong collaboration across departments and suppliers.
