The facility specializes in the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, including Teflon™ and Viton™, which are essential components in various industries such as electronics, clean energy, and healthcare.

Role Description
The Cost Engineer & Fixed Asset Coordinator is responsible for providing cost control support for both major and minor capital projects across EMEA while ensuring the accurate management and governance of site fixed assets. The role partners closely with project teams, finance, engineering, and asset management stakeholders to oversee project financial performance, forecasting, change management, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. In addition, the position serves as the focal point for fixed asset accounting processes, capital expenditure controls, and audit readiness. Reporting functionally to the Cost Control Manager and administratively to the Site Engineering Manager, this role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and serves as a key resource within the project controls and asset management networks.

Responsibilities
  • Providing cost control support for major and minor capital projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly project financial reports covering engineering, construction, equipment, field costs, and contingencies.
  • Leading project financial review meetings and providing independent analysis of project financial performance.
  • Developing, monitoring, and updating project forecasts, including estimates at completion and expenditure projections.
  • Managing project change control processes, documentation, approvals, and updates within financial systems.
  • Analyzing project progress and percentage-complete reporting.
  • Assessing and communicating the financial impact of project changes and currency fluctuations.
  • Supporting project teams in aligning scope, schedules, estimates, and budgets.
  • Utilizing procurement, scheduling, and project data to develop accurate cost forecasts.
  • Ensuring projects are properly established and maintained within company financial systems following corporate standards.
  • Coordinating transfer requests and supporting project close-out activities, including KPI and performance reporting.
  • Providing guidance on capital versus expense classification in collaboration with finance stakeholders.
  • Participating in project stage-gate reviews, steering committee meetings, and estimate reviews.
  • Acting as a key user and local resource for SAP and project financial systems.
  • Serving as the primary liaison between the site and fixed asset accounting functions.
  • Maintaining accurate fixed asset records and ensuring asset movements, transfers, disposals, and retirements are properly recorded.
  • Establishing and maintaining processes to ensure assets are removed from records following disposal, sale, transfer, or dismantling activities.
  • Coordinating and communicating asset movement information to the fixed asset accounting center.
  • Conducting regular reviews of fixed asset records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supporting capital project processes and expenditure reconciliation activities.
  • Coordinating and facilitating physical asset verification exercises, including those involving third-party contractors.
  • Supporting internal and external audits related to fixed assets, capital expenditures, and SOX compliance.
  • Acting as SOX Control Owner and participating in management control evaluations.
  • Partnering with Asset Management teams on asset redeployment and disposal activities.
  • Providing consultation and support to project teams and participate in competency networks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, improve processes, and support operational excellence.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of financial controls, governance processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and audit requirements.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
