Role Description
As an Associate Scientist (MS&E), you will perform hands-on laboratory investigations focused on material characterization, particle identification, and root cause analysis. Working with advanced analytical techniques, you will support global scientific projects involving drug products, packaging materials, and extraneous matter. This role is ideal for a laboratory scientist who enjoys analytical problem-solving, scientific investigations, and working in a research-driven environment rather than routine QC testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on materials characterization using techniques such as FTIR, Optical Microscopy, Raman, SEM-EDX, and mechanical testing
- Investigate unknown materials, foreign particles, packaging defects, and product-related issues
- Execute analytical experiments independently to support global Materials Science projects
- Conduct scientific root cause investigations and interpret analytical results
- Prepare clear technical investigation reports and present findings to internal stakeholders
- Support analytical laboratory activities across multiple international projects
- Collaborate with colleagues across Manufacturing, QA, QC, and Technical Operations
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high laboratory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline
- Hands-on laboratory experience with material characterization and analytical techniques
- Experience with FTIR and Optical Microscopy is essential; experience with Raman and SEM-EDX is highly desirable
- Experience performing scientific investigations and interpreting analytical results
- Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing investigation reports
- Curious, analytical, and able to work independently after onboarding
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
