Role Description
As Commercial Controller, you act as the financial business partner for several major consumer brands in the Netherlands. You combine strategic finance expertise with strong commercial insight to influence brand performance, profitability, and long term decision making. The role operates at senior management level and plays a key part in shaping brand and portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities
- Full financial ownership of brand profit and loss statements.
- Delivering financial analyses and insights to support strategic decisions.
- Business partnering with Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Sales teams.
- Leading planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles.
- Developing business cases for innovation, investments, and make or buy decisions.
- Steering monthly performance reviews and improving reporting transparency.
- Acting as a financial advisor to the commercial and marketing leadership teams.
- Contributing to long term brand and innovation strategies.
- Playing an active role in the month end closing process.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
- Minimum eight years experience in business control, commercial controlling, or financial planning and analysis
- Experience within FMCG or a multinational environment
- Strong commercial mindset with experience supporting marketing and sales teams
- Proven senior stakeholder management experience
- Ability to challenge and influence at management team level
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Hands on, proactive, and able to work independently
- Experience with SAP, AVO, PowerBI, and Excel
- Familiarity with the Dutch retail landscape
