Job Description
Our client is looking for a Quality Control Sample Management Technician to support laboratory operations within a quality control environment. This role focuses on handling, tracking, storing, and distributing samples accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and quality. It is a hands-on position suited to someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a structured and fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, and distribute quality control samples to the relevant laboratory teams
- Manage sample storage and transfers, including movement between ultra-low temperature and liquid nitrogen storage
- Support the day-to-day housekeeping of the sample management area
- Maintain workplace organization standards, including 5S and Kanban areas
- Follow approved procedures and ensure all work is completed in line with quality and safety requirements
- Escalate deviations or non-conformities when needed
- Dispose of samples according to defined procedures and timelines
- Support small improvement projects to enhance workflows and efficiency
- Complete required training on time and contribute to a compliant working environment
- Assist wider quality control teams when needed
Requirements
- Laboratory education at secondary level or a similar technical background
- Experience in a quality control or laboratory support role within biotech, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry is preferred
- Sample management experience is a strong advantage
- Basic laboratory skills and a hands-on approach
- Understanding of GMP, GDP, and standard operating procedures
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage a steady flow of samples accurately
- Comfortable working shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime when required
- Good English communication and reading skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel to site reliably for early starts and late finishes; a driver’s license is preferred
