Role Description
We are seeking a Supply Planning Manager to oversee and guide the European Material Planning team, supporting production sites in the Netherlands and Germany. The successful candidate will manage daily material planning activities, ensure timely procurement of raw materials, and lead the team towards optimal inventory and supply chain performance. This is a temporary, full-time role designed to support the team’s ongoing development and strategic alignment.
Responsibilities
-Lead and manage a team of three material planners, overseeing end-to-end ordering processes for raw and packaging materials.
-Monitor inventory levels and optimize working capital, ensuring supply continuity.
-Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and adjust plans proactively.
-Coordinate with suppliers for tactical alignment, contract coverage, and contingency planning.
-Resolve supplier issues and handle purchase complaints efficiently.
-Ensure accuracy in ordering, invoicing, and order control processes.
-Develop the team’s skills through ongoing coaching and performance reviews.
-Manage KPIs such as supplier OTIF and inventory value, ensuring targets are met.
-Collaborate across departments and with suppliers to improve processes and support long-term planning.
-Escalate issues when necessary, balancing daily operations and strategic outlooks.
-Participate in regular team check-ins and performance discussions, supporting team members with escalations and long-term planning.
Requirements
-HBO/Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
-Experience in supply chain or production planning; at least 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
-Proven ability to manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
-Proficiency in SAP is essential.
-Fluent in Dutch and English; German skills are a plus.
-Strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and team orientation.
-Willing to travel to Meppel once a week and occasional visits to Germany (up to once every 1-2 months).
-Customer-focused, results-driven, and innovative in problem-solving.
-Open to working in a hybrid setting (partly remote, partly onsite in Amersfoort, with occasional visits to Meppel).
