About the Role
This role is responsible for managing purchasing categories end to end and driving cost optimisation, supplier performance and strategic sourcing. You will work closely with cross functional teams to deliver category strategies aligned with business objectives. The position plays a key role in supplier development, negotiations and market insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual category plans based on category management analysis
- Own end to end category management to achieve purchasing objectives
- Select and develop national and international suppliers
- Drive cost optimisation and efficiency with cross functional teams
- Build and maintain long term supplier partnerships
- Represent purchasing in supplier negotiations
- Collaborate with R&D on product development and alternative materials
- Align category strategies across regions
- Negotiate pricing, service levels and contract terms
- Identify new sourcing opportunities and alternative suppliers
- Monitor category performance using KPIs
- Leverage global synergies and consolidate volumes
- Evaluate geopolitical, logistical, regulatory and currency risks
Requirements
- More than 2 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in the food industry is a plus
- Higher education with preference for a university degree
- Fluent Dutch and strong English at B2 level or higher
- Spanish is a plus
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with market insight capabilities
- Adaptable and resilient in fast paced environments
- Results driven, proactive and collaborative
- Proficient with data tools and procurement systems such as ERP and e sourcing tools
- Passion for purchasing and a strong growth mindset
