About the Role:
Located at the Utrecht Science Park, this state-of-the-art research center is dedicated to developing clinically substantiated nutrition solutions for vulnerable populations—including infants, the elderly, and individuals with specific medical needs. The focus is on advancing health through life-science-based innovation in specialized nutrition.
As a Process Application Manager, you will play a critical role in connecting Research & Innovation (R&I) with Operations to develop and implement cutting-edge liquid processing technologies. Working within the Process Application Technology (PAT) team, you will contribute to delivering high-performance process solutions and drive innovation across supply points throughout Europe.
Responsibilities:

Lead Process Innovation: Drive the identification, development, and implementation of liquid processing technologies such as dissolving, deaeration, emulsification, and heat treatment.

Project Management: Manage a portfolio of R&I and factory projects, including innovation, productivity, compliance, and technology transfers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the technical liaison between R&I, Operations, Product Development, Quality, and Factory teams.

Process Implementation: Support pilot, laboratory, and full-scale factory trials. Ensure delivery of process specifications, feasibility assessments, and documentation.

Technology Transfer: Guide new product introductions and process optimizations across global supply points with hands-on factory involvement.

Process Excellence: Establish and maintain robust process specifications and best practices to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance.
Requirements

Master’s degree (MSc) in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Bioprocessing, or a related field—or equivalent through experience.

5–10 years of experience in process development within R&I or factory environments, ideally in liquid, dairy, or plant-based processing.

Solid grounding in food and process technology fundamentals.

Proven ability to lead diverse technical projects and translate complex requirements into practical solutions.

Strong interpersonal skills to influence across levels—from operators to directors.

Analytical, hands-on, and proactive mindset with a passion for innovation.

Team player with a high level of autonomy and accountability.

Professional proficiency in English (required); additional languages (Dutch, French, Turkish, Spanish, or Arabic) are a plus.

Willingness to travel up to 20%.
