The client is an originally Icelandic meat processing machinery company.

Role Description
The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for the accurate assembly, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and mechatronic modules and machines according to customer specifications and company quality standards. The role ensures production targets, delivery schedules, and safety requirements are met while maintaining high levels of workmanship and collaboration. The Assembly Mechanic reports technical issues, capacity constraints, quality concerns, or supply-related challenges to the Team Leader and actively contributes to process improvements within the assembly function.

Responsibilities
  • Assembling modules, subassemblies, and complete machines in accordance with technical drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Meeting production schedules, delivery deadlines, and standard assembly times.
  • Operating industrial equipment safely and in compliance with required certifications and procedures.
  • Following all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.
  • Participating in team meetings and work-related discussions to support operational effectiveness.
  • Completing assembly and disassembly procedures using established checklists and processes.
  • Conducting inspections, calibrations, adjustments, and functional testing to ensure equipment performance and quality.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements, including opportunities to enhance manufacturability, reproducibility, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Report defects, technical issues, or deviations to the Team Leader and collaborate with other departments to resolve problems.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Assembly Team Leader or Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Technical secondary education or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering, mechanical, or mechatronics discipline.
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, assembling mechanical and mechatronic systems and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Experience within the food processing or food manufacturing industry is considered an advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
  • Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Practical problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
  • Quality and customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high standards of work.
  • Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and the ability to follow procedures, schedules, and safety requirements.
