The Facilities and Engineering department manages utility systems and asset lifecycle at their Breda site, supporting operations through focused maintenance and project initiatives.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Utility Systems Engineer to take ownership of key utility systems on-site. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the performance of critical infrastructure, including cooling, HVAC, and compressed air systems. You will work closely with a dedicated team of engineers, providing technical support, overseeing maintenance activities, and contributing to projects aimed at ensuring the site’s readiness for future growth.
Responsibilities
-Serve as the owner of utility systems, including chillers, HVAC, and compressed air, overseeing their lifecycle management.
-Support and troubleshoot unplanned maintenance issues, advising the service provider as needed.
-Contribute to maintenance improvement initiatives and optimize scheduled maintenance tasks.
-Lead reviews of maintenance plans, including root cause analyses and development of corrective actions.
-Co-develop and implement maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive tasks, defining responsibilities and means.
-Identify common failure modes and lead initiatives to reduce repetitive issues.
-Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo), ensuring accurate data and updates (nice to have).
-Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers on system design, installation, and upgrade projects, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Requirements
-Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
-Some experience with low voltage electrical systems and installations (NEN 3140) is preferred but not mandatory.
-Basic knowledge of utilities and building management systems (HVAC, sprinkler systems, storage systems).
-Flexibility to participate in a call-out rota (24/7 support, 1-2 times per month).
-Fluency in both English and Dutch, in speaking and writing.
