Role Description As a Packaging Operator, you play a key role in the production and packaging process of frozen food products. You are responsible for operating, setting up, adjusting, and monitoring packaging lines and related equipment to ensure products are packed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. Using your technical skills and attention to detail, you help maintain smooth production flow and ensure orders are completed according to plan. Working within a three-shift operation, you collaborate closely with packaging employees, assistant operators, and supervisors to support production targets, food safety requirements, and continuous operational efficiency. Responsibilities Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor packaging, case-forming, and palletizing equipment. Ensure packaging lines run efficiently and take corrective action when process deviations occur. Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues, escalating more complex problems to the maintenance team when required. Coordinate daily activities with packaging operators and support staff assigned to the production line. Ensure products are packed, labeled, and palletized correctly according to production schedules and customer requirements. Monitor product flow and maintain operational continuity to achieve production targets. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, food safety, quality, and workplace safety. Participate actively in shift handovers and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and priorities. Requirements LBO/MBO level working and thinking ability. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or food production environment. Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards. Understanding of Food Defense requirements. Familiarity with workplace safety procedures and safety instructions. Awareness of allergen management within food production environments. Willingness to complete on-the-job training and continuously develop technical skills. About the position We are looking for a System Owner Engineer – Mechanical to take technical ownership of important utility systems at the Breda site. The chiller system is a must-have, while experience with HVAC, compressed air and other building utilities is highly valuable. You will be responsible for the reliability and lifecycle management of your systems, supporting maintenance activities, investigating technical problems and driving improvements. You will also work on engineering projects involving the design, installation, upgrade and replacement of assets. This is a fully onsite role in Breda and is initially offered for 6 months, with potential extension depending on performance and business/project needs. Important: The position includes an on-call duty. Typically, the System Owner participates approximately once per month in a 7-day duty period, providing 24-hour availability to support ongoing maintenance activities when technical assistance is required. Responsibilities Take ownership of mechanical utility systems, with chillers as the key system. Support maintenance activities and troubleshoot technical issues. Provide technical guidance to the external maintenance/service provider. Analyse recurring equipment failures and lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA). Identify and implement opportunities to improve system reliability and maintenance performance. Review and optimize preventive maintenance activities. Help develop maintenance concepts, including tasks, methods and responsibilities. Work with project managers and senior engineers on utility and engineering projects. Support the design, installation, modification and replacement of technical assets. Work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering and other stakeholders. Maintain clear technical documentation and ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable GMP and site requirements. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience. Proven experience with chillers – this is a MUST. Experience with GMP-regulated environments, preferably pharmaceutical, biotech or food manufacturing. Knowledge of utilities and building systems such as HVAC, compressed air, sprinkler systems or warehouse/building equipment. Experience with HVAC and/or compressed air is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working with external maintenance partners and different internal departments. Willing and available to participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation, normally approximately once per month for a 7-day period. Fully onsite availability in Breda. Experience with CMMS/Maximo, SAP, validation activities (FAT/SAT/SIT), building automation or process automation is a plus.
