Role Description
The Senior Mechatronics Engineer will lead the deployment and upgrade of advanced equipment, products, and automated systems across Amgen’s labelling and packaging lines within a regulated manufacturing environment. The role focuses on complex troubleshooting, CAPEX project execution, equipment lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, automation, validation, and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new systems, upgrades, and equipment for advanced labeling and packaging lines as part of project teams.
- Manage the deployment of projects with different levels of complexity, maintaining high standards of quality and considering asset lifecycle.
- Act as the mechatronics expert, providing guidance to maintenance, engineering, and project teams.
- Deliver second-line support to technicians for complex mechatronic issues on the shopfloor.
- Investigate complex process or equipment problems methodically, and assist in recommending and executing effective solutions.
- Plan and carry out maintenance and engineering tasks independently in assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in an operations or manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in mechatronics systems.
- Experience with project management methodologies, preferably in CAPEX projects.
- Analytical troubleshooting skills are preferred.
- Experience working within regulated environments (GMP, OSHA, EPA).
- Willing to work occasionally outside standard office hours.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; basic Dutch skills are a plus.
