Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Engineer to join our client’s Engineering & Maintenance department. In this role, you will lead safety efforts during complex facility upgrade projects, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with safety standards throughout all phases of project execution.

Responsibilities:
•    Act as the safety lead during planning and execution of multidisciplinary construction and upgrade projects.
•    Develop and oversee Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) plans, work permits, and safety protocols.
•    Supervise daily field activities, coordinating workers and subcontractors to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
•    Monitor work progress, resolve safety or technical issues, and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
•    Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure full compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
•    Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
•    Provide safety training and coaching to team members, contractors, and subcontractors to foster a strong safety culture.
•    Maintain and improve safety management systems, including permit-to-work, LOTOTO, FARIP, and working-at-heights protocols.
•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate safety considerations into project plans and delivery.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
•    At least 7 years of experience in construction management, civil engineering, or safety within a complex organization.
•    Strong knowledge of international safety standards such as ISO 14001.
•    Proven leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate safety at site level.
•    Fluency in both Dutch and English.
