Role Description
We are seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join the Research & Development team, working on next-generation Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing FPGA firmware for MRI control and acquisition systems used in hospitals and outpatient radiology centers. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring new imaging products from concept to production, contributing to healthcare innovation.
Responsibilities
-Define, gather, and document FPGA firmware requirements and test specifications based on higher-level system requirements and stakeholder input.
-Design, develop, and implement FPGA firmware in VHDL or Verilog, ensuring integration, testing, and proper documentation.
-Plan and define FPGA I/O, clock/reset architecture, and external interfaces.
-Conduct thorough testing, including code reviews, functional verification using SystemVerilog/UVM, and coverage analysis (preferably with Questasim).
-Document development efforts, including requirements, design plans, test procedures, and reports.
-Collaborate closely with hardware, mechanical, system, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of FPGA firmware into the overall product.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
-At least 5 years of experience in FPGA firmware design using VHDL and/or Verilog.
-Proven experience with FPGA development life cycle, including high-speed digital design, static code analysis, and verification.
-Familiarity with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado and AMD FPGA IP blocks.
-Experience with digital signal processing functions and FPGA architectures with integrated processors (SoC).
-Knowledge of high-speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, serial links.
-Good communication skills, highly motivated, and a strong team player.
