Role description
The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing systems and automation within the production environment. The role ensures that equipment and systems are implemented, maintained, and compliant with internal standards. The position supports both ongoing operations and new projects, including system integration, commissioning, and technical support.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and support manufacturing systems and automation activities in line with maintenance and project timelines.
  • Support the implementation and upgrade of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Create and review technical documentation such as system requirements and design specifications.
  • Ensure systems meet internal security and compliance standards.
  • Support system integration and data connectivity between equipment and data systems.
  • Participate in equipment commissioning, testing, and qualification activities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on automation systems.
  • Support data integrity assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Train internal teams on automation systems and processes.
  • Monitor system performance and support continuous improvements.
  • Report progress and technical updates to project stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial automation, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation and manufacturing systems within pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
  • Experience with process control systems and industrial automation.
  • Experience supporting equipment implementation, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Knowledge of data integrity and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to create and manage technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
