Role Overview
As a Product Development Specialist – Chilled Dairy, you will play a central role in creating and improving fermented dairy products (such as yoghurts, quarks, cultured drinks, and chilled desserts). You will lead new product development projects, execute quality or cost optimization initiatives, and collaborate closely with cross?functional teams including Marketing, QA, Procurement, Supply Chain, and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and implement new dairy product innovations, keeping nutritional, regulatory, sensory, and cost criteria in mind. Lead renovation and value engineering projects on existing products.
-Coordinate and execute lab, pilot plant, and factory trials.
-Analyse large datasets to support nutrition frameworks and cost-saving programs.
-Translate trial outcomes into clear technical reports and present to stakeholders.
-Manage recipe transfers between production plants.
-Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure project succes
Requirements
-Master’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Processing, Physical Chemistry, or a related field.
-Minimum 5 years’ product development experience in the food industry.
-Strong preference for experience in fermented dairy.
-Expertise in dairy formulation, fermentation, shelf?life testing, sensory evaluation, and pilot/factory trials.
-Strong skills in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with PowerBI or similar data tools.
-Understanding of nutrition, claims, and product costing.
