About the Role
This position plays a key role in developing and improving chilled dairy products for several well-known consumer brands and private label projects. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to innovate, renovate, and transfer recipes while ensuring product quality, nutritional standards, and operational feasibility. The role combines hands-on product development with data analysis and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support new product development projects focused on nutrition, claims, cost, quality, and sensory profile
- Execute renovation projects including quality improvements, raw material substitutions, specification updates, and value engineering
- Perform recipe transfers between production sites
- Conduct data analysis using large datasets to support nutrition and cost saving initiatives
- Plan and run lab, pilot, and factory scale trials, including interpretation and documentation of results
- Present findings to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with teams in marketing, sales, supply chain, research, QA, technology, procurement and external suppliers
- Align with production locations in the Netherlands and Belgium
Requirements
- Master degree in food technology, dairy technology, food processing, physical chemistry or similar
- Minimum 5 years of product development or analytical experience in the food industry
- Experience in fermented dairy is an advantage
- Strong communication skills in English
- Competences including analytical mindset, hands on attitude, quality and results orientation, proactivity, punctuality, entrepreneurial spirit, stakeholder engagement and decisiveness
- Strong digital skills including Excel and familiarity with PowerBI
- Willingness to travel to multiple production sites including Maasdam
- Driver’s license required
- Experience with SAP or DOT PLM is a plus
