Role description
The Trade Compliance Specialist supports operational activities related to import and export processes as well as master data management. The role ensures compliance with customs regulations and maintains accurate product and trade data within company systems. The position combines operational trade compliance work with structured data management and reporting.
Key responsibilities
Trade Compliance 50%
- Support operational import and export activities within European markets.
- Monitor customs processes and follow up on corrections or open declarations.
- Support administration related to excise duties and customs transit procedures.
- Monitor export confirmations and ensure correct documentation.
- Maintain documentation related to preferential origin of goods.
- Execute internal compliance checks related to trade processes.
- Coordinate operational activities with customs brokers and logistics partners.
- Support preparation of periodic regulatory reports under supervision.
- Maintain product and customs-related master data within enterprise systems.
- Update product classification and origin information.
- Perform data quality checks and ensure accuracy of system data.
- Support improvements in data governance and data consistency.
- Create structured reports and dashboards using operational data.
Requirements
- Experience in trade compliance or customs operations within a European environment.
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems related to supply chain or trade compliance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with business intelligence tools for reporting and dashboards.
- Experience managing or maintaining master data.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Detail-oriented and structured working approach.
- Ability to coordinate operational activities with internal teams and external partners.
