About the role
The Packaging Engineer is responsible for managing and improving packaging specifications and configurations for pharmaceutical products. The role focuses on packaging components such as labels, cartons, leaflets, shippers, pallets, and trays used in secondary and tertiary packaging. The engineer documents technical specifications, supports testing activities, and ensures compliance with quality and change control procedures. This position also investigates packaging issues and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges

Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain packaging component specifications, technical reports, and change control documentation.
- Create, review, and approve testing protocols and reports for packaging materials and components.
- Investigate and troubleshoot packaging component issues in production, warehouse, and inspection processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering to improve packaging processes.
- Lead or support projects related to packaging optimization, new packaging introductions, and supplier collaboration.


Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Design, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical packaging engineering, including secondary and tertiary packaging materials.
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience in developing packaging material specifications, technical layouts, and documentation within change control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
