Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Legal Counsel with strong expertise in commercial contract law, product liability, and dispute resolution. You will operate in an international environment, providing pragmatic legal guidance to support business operations and senior management.
This role requires a practical, solution-oriented lawyer who can work independently, manage complex legal matters, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel. Experience in the FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical industries is considered a strong advantage.
Responsibilities
- Advise the business on claims, insurance requirements, and related legal matters.
- Provide legal support to senior management on complex or large-scale disputes, claim settlements, and arbitration proceedings.
- Monitor and manage ongoing litigation matters.
- Liaise with and manage external legal counsel across relevant jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on risk exposure related to commercial and product liability matters.
- Ensure legal alignment with international contractual obligations and dispute resolution frameworks.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal role within an international environment.
- Strong expertise in international commercial contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of dispute resolution and liability law.
- Experience in the FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical sectors is a plus.
- Knowledge of common law systems and/or class action litigation is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with a pragmatic, solution-focused mindset and a positive “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent command of English; Dutch is considered an advantage.
