Role Description
The Facilities Engineering & Maintenance Lead will oversee day-to-day facilities operations and services, ensuring that site utilities, equipment, and building systems are maintained, improved, and compliant with applicable quality and environmental, health & safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct facilities operations, maintenance, repairs, and improvements for buildings, utilities, and related systems
- Ensure facilities activities meet site requirements, quality expectations, and EHS standards in a regulated environment
- Oversee internal work and subcontracted service activities, ensuring safe execution and adherence to procedures
- Ensure repairs, installations, and maintenance are performed according to established requirements and relevant regulations
- Identify risks that could impact compliance, uptime, or financial targets; escalate issues and propose mitigation options
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures, ensuring they remain current and are followed consistently
- Act as a facilities SME during deviations, investigations, inspections/audits, and capital justification discussions
- Support and coordinate facilities and process-related projects, including planning and running project meetings when needed
- Establish, implement, and monitor environmental controls and environmental management practices within the maintenance system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical, engineering, or facilities-related field
- Several years of relevant experience in facilities engineering/maintenance within a regulated or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and EHS expectations (experience in GMP utilities is a plus)
- Able to troubleshoot facilities services and systems and support cross-functional problem solving
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Comfortable coordinating contractors and working with multiple stakeholders in a busy site environment
