Role Overview
As a System Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability systems. You will integrate automation into system verification processes, increase test coverage, reduce verification lead time, and contribute to early defect detection. This role is highly collaborative, working with system testers, developers, and framework/enabler teams to create scalable, maintainable, and stable automation in both physical and virtual system environments.
Key Responsibilities
-Act as the subject matter expert and coach for system test automation, promoting best practices and standards.
-Support the definition of automation goals, driving continuous improvement across system verification.
-Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using FAST, Reqnroll/Cucumber, NUnit, and C#.
-Collaborate with Enabler teams to request, validate, and integrate automation keywords, adapters, and tools.
-Execute automated tests across varied system configurations to evaluate reliability, performance, and compliance.
-Analyze and optimize automated test performance, addressing instability or flakiness.
-Integrate automated test results with reporting tools such as Companion -RV&S and ADS dashboards.
-Participate in peer reviews of automated scripts and frameworks to ensure maintainability and quality.
-Stay up to date with new automation methods (e.g., SenseUI, logging?based automation) and drive innovation.
-Align automation efforts with cross-domain system test teams (Acquisition, Positioning, Viewing).
-Contribute to cross?functional initiatives such as mainline verification readiness and continuous nightly regressions.
-Apply sound judgment in automation development in line with regulated environment requirements.
Requirements
-Experience with test automation frameworks: Reqnroll, NUnit, Cucumber, or equivalent.
-Strong programming skills in C#, Gherkin, and Python.
-Experience in keyword-driven automation, UI/adapter-based testing, and test case conversion.
-Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, VTP, and CI/CD practices.
-Solid understanding of system testing, regression, performance, or reliability testing.
-Experience in Agile environments, with a data-driven mindset and familiarity with KPI-based reporting.
-Strong communication and collaboration skills across global teams (Best, Bangalore, Suzhou).
-Structured, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
