Role Description
In this role, you will lead a team of breakdown and maintenance technicians, as well as a work planner, within the Maintenance department. The department is responsible for all planned and unplanned maintenance on production lines and technical installations, including day-to-day maintenance, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you ensure that grating, slicing, and packaging lines operate as efficiently, safely, and reliably as possible.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, motivate, develop, and evaluate a team of approximately 20 employees, including technicians working in three shifts, day-shift technicians, and work planners
- Ensure efficient operation of the Technical Service department, covering both breakdown services and preventive maintenance, with a strong customer-oriented mindset
- Develop and execute maintenance plans covering preventive maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, minor modifications, and improvement projects to achieve optimal equipment availability
- Periodically evaluate and optimize maintenance strategies with a focus on availability, reliability, maintainability, and cost efficiency
- Analyze breakdown and performance data to identify root causes and drive maintenance improvements
- Provide daily direction, coordination, and reporting on the performance of technical installations and the maintenance team
- Monitor and report on breakdowns, maintenance budgets, and KPIs, and advise the Maintenance Manager on improvement opportunities
Requirements
- Completed technical education at HBO (Bachelor’s) level
- 5–10 years of relevant work experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written (Dutch is mandatory)
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, ability to set priorities, analytical mindset, results-driven approach, quality focus, and resilience under pressure
