Role Description
As a Development Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing cheese products within the Retail & Americas business unit. Operating from the Innovation Centre in Wageningen, you will act as the critical link between R&D, Marketing, QA, Operations, and external manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into new product development and product improvement initiatives in close collaboration with Marketing, QA, and Operations
- Plan, execute, and analyze development experiments on lab, pilot, and factory scale, including detailed reporting
- Drive technical solutions to enhance and maintain product quality
- Lead and coordinate upscaling activities for new products, processes, and packaging solutions
- Conduct value engineering to reduce total cost of ownership while safeguarding quality and performance
- Manage and deliver R&D?related projects within company guidelines
- Monitor technical and market developments within cheese technology and share insights with colleagues
- Present findings and recommendations to peers and business stakeholders
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, (Bio)Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar preferably dairy?related
- 2–5 years of experience in the food industry, specifically in dairy or cheese technology
Strong interpersonal skills with a team?player mindset
- Key competencies: creative, entrepreneurial, result?driven, open?minded, flexible, decisive, strong networker
- Proven experience in project management (>2 years)
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
- Good to have: experience with SAP and Power BI
