Role Description
As Demand Planning Manager, you are responsible for driving demand excellence within the Fighting Unit by ensuring a robust, accurate, and actionable demand plan over a 0–18 month horizon. You act as the key link between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain, leading the Demand Review process and ensuring a smooth handover into the S&OP cycle. The role carries end-to-end accountability for forecast accuracy and bias, while leading and developing the demand planning team in a complex, fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the demand strategy for the Fighting Unit in line with Business Group and Customer Supply Chain objectives
- Supervise, consolidate, and challenge unconstrained and constrained demand plans as input for the S&OP Demand and Supply Network Plan
- Lead and prepare Demand Review meetings and represent demand towards Industry, Trading, and Supply Chain stakeholders
- Act as first point of contact for commercial teams on operational and tactical demand planning topics
- Ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement of statistical forecasting methodologies
- Translate commercial dynamics such as NPD, EOL, promotions, tenders, seasonality, and contracts into the demand plan
- Manage priority rule books and support allocation and constraint decision-making at product and customer level
- Monitor forecast quality, trends, risks, and opportunities, and drive improvements in forecast accuracy and bias
- Facilitate scenario planning and provide market intelligence input for (pre-)S&OP processes
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects related to supply chain, NPI/NPD, change controls, and continuous improvement
- Own and develop KPI dashboards, insights, and management reports to support PDCA cycles and decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in demand planning processes, systems, and tools
- Lead, coach, and develop the demand planning team, ensuring effective collaboration, capability development, and change adoption
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Demand Planning or a closely related supply chain role within FMCG
- Strong knowledge of forecasting principles, S&OP, statistics, and end-to-end supply chain processes
- Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, APO, OMP, Power BI, and advanced Excel
- Proven leadership experience with strong people management, coaching, and change management capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including influencing senior management
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle complexity and translate data into decisions
- Proactive, result-driven, and continuously focused on improvement and operational excellence
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus
