Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the technical team at their Leerdam facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of production lines and utilities involved in cheese slicing, packaging, and labeling processes. Your expertise will support continuous improvement efforts, safeguard food safety compliance, and maintain optimal equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery used for cheese slicing, portioning, packaging, and labeling.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults to minimize downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing line availability, output, and product quality, using methodologies like TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma.
- Contribute to automation and modernization initiatives involving cutting, packaging, and vision inspection systems.
- Assist during audits, risk assessments, and ensure adherence to standards such as CE and NEN guidelines.
- Follow correct lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety checks.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and machine history in SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM).
- Keep technical documentation, drawings, and maintenance instructions up to date.
- Optimize spare parts management and contribute to long-term maintenance planning.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Service, Production, Quality, Engineering teams, and external contractors.
Requirements
- MBO-4, HBO, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Technology.
- 5-8 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in food processing or packaging.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
- Experience with packaging, slicing, or automation systems is a plus.
- Proficiency with SAP PM.
- Knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation, and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, IFS).
- Dutch language skills are required.
