The facility is focused on the development and manufacturing of biologic medicines, particularly in the fields of immunology, oncology, and infectious diseases. They specialize in producing large-scale biologic drugs, which are typically made from living cells and are used to treat complex diseases.
Role Description
We are seeking a Material Management Sourcing Specialist to be a part of the Logistics Center of Expertise and focusing on strengthening supply chain resilience through dual sourcing strategies for raw materials critical to biotherapeutics production. The role involves leading projects to evaluate, qualify, and implement alternative material sources, ensuring continuity and compliance across the supply chain. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent the Leiden site within the global dual sourcing network.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the link between planning, manufacturing, and technical departments to introduce alternative raw materials.
- Developing and implementing solutions to enhance material resiliency.
- Leading projects from planning through execution, including documentation and change control processes.
- Conducting assessments with subject matter experts to validate material suitability.
- Maintaining and governing GMP-related records for materials.
- Managing supply chain setup for alternative materials and addressing escalations impacting timelines or costs.
- Communicating effectively with vendors and internal technical teams.
- Staying informed on industry standards and technological developments to recommend process improvements and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Analytical (Bio)Chemistry, or a related field, with strong knowledge of proteins and/or excipients.
- 5–10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
- ???????Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Proven project management experience.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch preferred).
- Proactive, independent, and results-driven mindset.
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
