It specializes in the production of polypropylene, polyethylene, advanced polymers, and other chemicals used in a wide range of industries, including packaging, automotive, and construction.
Role Description
As a Chemistry Laboratory Manager, you are responsible for the daily leadership of the laboratory team and ensuring the quality of analyses. However, your role goes beyond operational management: you act as a catalyst for change and growth. With your experience in guiding technical teams through transformation processes, you know how to build trust, turn resistance into engagement, and create a safe environment where people feel empowered to develop. You foster collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement, ensuring that team members feel heard, valued, and challenged.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of approximately 15 laboratory technicians and lab engineers.
- Driving team development and implementing cultural change initiatives.
- Optimizing workflows and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Developing medium- and long-term plans for the laboratory.
- Collaborating closely with departments such as Operations, Technical Services, and HSEQ.
- Reporting to senior management and contributing to strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of leadership experience, ideally within a laboratory environment.
- ???????Proven track record in managing cultural change projects, including achieving sustainable behavioral change.
- Strong change management skills: ability to plan, communicate, and implement changes effectively.
- Coaching leadership style: guiding employees, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging personal and professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills to connect and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in Dutch is mandatory.
