Role Description
As a Mechanical Engineer within the Mechanical Engineering Group, you will contribute to the development of brooming & Beauty appliances and accessories. You’ll be involved from the initial concept phase through to mass production, working in a multidisciplinary team to create innovative, high-performance products that meet consumer needs in hair removal across the head, face, and body.
Responsibilities
- Leading mechanical design and development of components and systems, ensuring alignment with product requirements.
- Conducting predictive analyses, material selection (plastics/metals), and applying design principles for manufacturability and assembly.
- Creating detailed 3D and 2D CAD files and managing product specifications.
- Driving concept generation, leading design reviews, and managing DFMEAs using the V-model approach.
- Building prototypes, writing and executing test protocols, analyzing results, and document findings.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including system engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and testing.
- Developing new testing methods and tools in coordination with validation engineers.
- Maintaining design documentation and archive files using Windchill.
- Promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the mechanical engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical product development for mass production (2+ years acceptable with Bachelor’s).
- Proven experience in international, multidisciplinary projects—preferably in consumer goods.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Siemens NX or CREO) and familiarity with plastic/metal design for mass manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in FEA (Ansys), CFD, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing.
- Hands-on, proactive team player with leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to document technical work and develop functional prototypes quickly.
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt certification is a plus).
- Knowledge of medical device development is advantageous.
