Role Description
As a Maintenance Engineer – Utilities, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all utility systems, including steam, compressed air, HVAC, and water purification. You will develop and implement maintenance strategies, analyze malfunctions, and drive improvements while collaborating with production, facilities, and external partners. This role also focuses on energy efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine preventative and predictive maintenance plans for utility systems including steam, compressed air, cooling, heating, water treatment, and energy supply.
- Analyze equipment failures and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Assist in preparing proposals for equipment investments and upgrades.
- Support planning and coordination of maintenance activities, revisions, and technical projects.
- Collaborate with the Utilities Technologist on operational optimization and innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy regulations.
- Contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the utility infrastructure.
- Participate in audits and inspections, such as BRL, ISO, or NEN standards.
Requirements
- HBO or WO level in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology, or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance or engineering within an industrial setting.
- Knowledge of utility systems like boilers, cooling systems, compressed air, water treatment, and HVAC.
- Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP PM or Ultimo.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with techniques like RCA, FMECA, and LEAN.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Dutch language proficiency is required.
