Role Description
As a Maintenance Engineer – Utilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficiency of critical utility installations, including steam, compressed air, cooling, heating, water treatment, and power supply. You will develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, perform root cause analysis, and lead improvement initiatives. In close collaboration with the Utilities Technologist and cross-functional teams, you will drive both technical reliability and sustainable performance. This position requires strong engineering expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and a proactive approach to innovation and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance plans for utility systems.
- Analyze failures and perform root cause analyses to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the preparation and execution of investment proposals and technical projects.
- Plan and coordinate overhauls and upgrades in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Work closely with the Utilities Technologist to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and energy regulations (e.g., BRL, ISO, NEN).
- Contribute to energy savings and sustainability initiatives across the utilities domain.
- Support audits and inspections with technical documentation and performance evidence.


Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/WO) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process - Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance or engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of utility systems such as steam boilers, cooling systems, compressed air, water treatment, and HVAC.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP PM, Ultimo).
- Proven analytical skills and familiarity with methodologies such as RCA, FMECA, and LEAN.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
- Fluency in Dutch is required.
