Job Description:
As an experienced Logistics & Planning Manager you will oversee planning and logistics operations at the facility in Meppel. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team, develop strategic policies, and ensure the smooth coordination between production, logistics, and management. You will act as a key link between the commercial functions and the production site, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 19 logistics professionals across Planning, Internal Logistics, Receiving, and Shipping, fostering a coaching and development-oriented culture.
- Oversee daily logistics operations, maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Develop and implement logistics policies, support issue resolution, and analyze root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, delivery performance, budget adherence, absenteeism, and inventory levels.
- Provide tactical and strategic input to management by advising on supply chain policies, process improvements, and cost controls.
- Optimize planning systems related to production run lengths, materials planning, and staffing requirements.
- Promote a proactive team culture, motivate colleagues, and handle deviations or emergencies according to company procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing large teams in a production or logistics environment.
- Solid understanding of production processes, preferably within the food industry.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, and familiarity with OMP is a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, with excellent communication skills.
- A proactive, independent professional who takes initiative and works energetically.
- Focused on customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement.
