We support an international organization in the food and FMCG industry, operating a global network of manufacturing sites. Within the Global Supply Chain, the OT team plays a critical role in ensuring operational continuity and improving factory performance. With over 50 production sites worldwide and a diverse OT landscape, there is a strong need for expert support in OT strategy, risk management, and asset lifecycle planning.
Role description
As a Business Group OT Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving OT performance across a designated group of factories. You will work closely with local OT teams and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that address cybersecurity, business risks, and system obsolescence. This role requires deep technical knowledge of OT systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments and external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor OT infrastructure and organize patch management and backup/restore activities.
- Manage OT assets and configurations, including maintaining CMDBs and event catalogues per site.
- Develop OT maintenance concepts and plans, and support strategic planning.
- Execute OT-ITIL activities and assess supplier performance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Capex projects and contribute to project execution.
- Support data analytics and dashboard development for site reporting.
- Optimize applications such as MES, LIMS, printers, scanners, and weighing systems.
- Organize training for end users and technical OT teams.
- Develop and maintain OT masterplans and roadmaps, and support site masterplan development.
- Ensure compliance with OT security policies and technical standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including OT teams, IT, production, R&D, system integrators, and auditors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Medium to senior-level experience in OT engineering and automation platforms, preferably in a related industry.
- Understanding of the impact of OT systems on production processes (e.g. EHEDG, ATEX, HACCP, HAZOP).
- Strong knowledge of OT standards (ITIL, ISA88/95/99, GAMP, ISA62443, NEN3140) and OT security (NIS2, NIST2.0).
- Experience with data management, secure data extraction, and system performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within the Benelux and occasionally abroad.
