About the Role
As an Animal Facility Technician, you will play a key role in the daily care and handling of laboratory animals in a research or pharmaceutical setting. Working in accordance with GLP and GMP quality systems, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, data accuracy, and procedural compliance. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily care, feeding, and cleaning of animal housing in compliance with welfare standards
- Carry out biotechnical procedures, including proper use of anaesthesia where required
- Observe animals closely and report deviations in behaviour or health
- Accurately record animal data, observations, and procedures in line with study protocols
- Follow SOPs, experimental protocols, and work instructions precisely
- Independently execute animal studies and contribute to high-quality research outcomes
- Ensure all work aligns with GLP and GMP regulations
- Support and guide interns or temporary staff as needed
Requirements
- MBO-4 diploma with relevant biotechnician training (Art. 13f is a must)
- Demonstrated affinity for animals and commitment to animal welfare
- Team player with experience in collaborative work environments
- Able to communicate in English at a functional level
- Familiarity with GLP and GMP quality systems
