Our client is part of a leading dairy business group, specializing in dairy essentials, with a strong focus on efficiency and quality. Their Wolvega location is home to a team of 300 employees who produce and package 65,000 tons of cheese every year. With a range of automated processes and a high level of production continuity (24/5), they are looking for an experienced leader to join our team.

Job Description
As a Logistics Manager , you'll be responsible for leading a team of 20-25 colleagues in a 3-shift rotation within our logistics department. Your primary focus will be on day-to-day management, as well as the improvement and optimization of our logistics processes. You'll work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration and a high level of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 20-25 colleagues in a 3-shift rotation within the logistics department
  • Oversee the daily management of the logistics process, including the cheese reception, preparation, distribution, and storage
  • Implement and maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in the logistics department
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Analyze and report on any issues or concerns, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and regulations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and other departments

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in a production or logistics environment (3+ years)
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management (HBO degree preferred)
  • Experience with project management and improvement methodologies (World Class Manufacturing, TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic and operational tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to delegate tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
