Role Description
As a Junior Support Engineer for the Operations Technology team, you will play a key role in supporting the IT infrastructure on the shop floor of the European distribution and packaging facility. This position is ideal for someone passionate about pharmaceutical manufacturing, labelling, packaging technologies, and IT systems. You’ll work with Building Management Systems (Desigo CC), Zebra/Printronix printers and scanners, and contribute to the rollout of cutting-edge technologies such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Generative AI. This is a hands-on role that requires strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in deploying and supporting innovative technology solutions to enhance manufacturing operations.
- Supporting OS and application patching and updates on production systems.
- Delivering and setting up IT hardware for end users, including those in production and warehouse environments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and drive process improvements.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining IT and operational technology systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Creating documentation and delivering training for new systems and technologies.
- Keeping up to date with the latest industry developments to recommend improvements.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in all technical and operational processes.
Requirements
- MBO qualification with 3+ years of experience in IT or operational technology within a manufacturing setting OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Understanding of system integration and ability to support connected technologies.
- Proficiency in system troubleshooting and abstract/logical problem-solving.
- Experience creating technical documentation and user training materials.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and IT application management.
- Preferred: Knowledge of GxP, GDP standards, and pharmaceutical packaging and distribution processes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective team player, able to collaborate across departments.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and fast-paced projects.
- Good time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines reliably.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
- Innovative thinker with a passion for process optimization.
- Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
