About the Role
As a SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Manager, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding the wellbeing of employees and the environment at Friesland Campina’s Meppel production site. You’ll lead the SHE function on-site, shape local strategy, and build an inspiring safety culture. This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role where you’ll work closely with management, operators, and government stakeholders to create a healthier, safer, and more sustainable workplace.

Responsibilities
- Advise plant management on SHE matters and represent SHE in the local Management Team
- Develop and implement strategic SHE and sustainability plans in line with ISO and legal standards
- Translate national and international legislation into local policies and procedures
- Lead Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) processes and monitor corrective actions
- Oversee incident/crisis management, issue registration, and emergency communication
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and government agencies
- Coach and manage the SHE Specialist and oversee the SHE budget and project portfolio

Requirements
- HBO degree in a relevant field (e.g. safety, environment, engineering, MoSHE, IVK)
- Completed HVK or equivalent training in safety management
- Proven experience in a similar SHE role within a production environment
- Strong knowledge of Dutch legislation, ISO systems, RI&E, and crisis management
- Skilled in stakeholder and project management
- Fluent in Dutch (mandatory) and English
- Able to influence, coach, and build a culture of continuous improvement
