This production site is part of a larger Dairy Essentials business group. With around 300 permanent employees, the facility processes and packages approximately 65,000 tons of cheese annually. It operates 24/5 and features highly automated processes, ensuring high production continuity and efficiency. 

About the Role: Shift Manager Logistics (3-shift system) 

We are currently seeking a Shift Manager Logistics to join the logistics department in a rotating 3-shift schedule. In this position, you will lead a team of 20–25 employees, overseeing the logistics operations and driving process improvements and collaboration across teams. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and oversee logistics processes including cheese reception, pre-processing, dispatch, and warehouse operations during your shift 

  • Lead, coach, and supervise a team of 20–25 logistics staff 

  • Take and report corrective actions in case of deviations or incidents 

  • Participate in Daily Control meetings and support the rollout of the PCS (Performance Control System) structure 

  • Manage shift planning, monitor attendance, and handle absenteeism 

  • Apply WCOM (World Class Operations Management) principles in daily operations 

  • Lead WCOM improvement teams and encourage the submission of improvement proposals 

  • Ensure orderliness and adherence to safety and compliance regulations 

  • Collaborate effectively with fellow shift managers and cross-functional departments 

 

Requirements 

  • HBO-level thinking and working capabilities, preferably with a background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field 

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a production and/or logistics environment (experience in the food industry is a plus) 

  • Familiarity with project management and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., World Class Manufacturing, TPM, Lean, Six Sigma) 

  • Proficiency in ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred 

  • Strong leadership, motivational, and coaching skills 

  • Capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on daily operations 

  • Excellent communication skills, quality- and results-driven 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to delegate and monitor progress 

  • Willingness to participate in an assessment as part of the selection process
