Role Description
The Calibration Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of equipment used in manufacturing and quality control processes. This position ensures that all critical production and measurement instruments are correctly calibrated, supporting compliance with industry standards and internal procedures. The technician's performance directly contributes to achieving the company's annual goals and divisional objectives.
Responsibilities
- Performing both scheduled and unscheduled calibrations on production and facility equipment.
- Investigating and resolving out-of-specification (OOS) issues, ensuring timely communication with Quality Assurance via Calibration Alerts.
- Accurately documenting calibration activities in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Proposing enhancements to existing calibration procedures and methods.
- Building technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment to better assess calibration requirements.
- Maintaining the calibration status of all essential measurements and production instruments.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of calibration methods for both new and existing equipment.
- Completing and verifying calibration test records with precision and accountability.
- Reporting issues arising from failed calibrations and contributing to resolution strategies.
- Creating and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing equipment.
- Ensuring calibration records are updated, organized, and easily accessible.
- Participating in projects and initiatives aligned with strategic company goals.
- Attending necessary training sessions and notify supervisors of any gaps in training related to job duties.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- MBO level 3 or 4 in industrial maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical electronics.
- Professional certifications as required by industry regulations, GMP,
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and calibration processes.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with control systems and automation.
- Basic skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Working knowledge of EHS&S and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Basic understanding of aseptic techniques.
- Competent with computer systems, including MS Office and SAP.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability for flexible work hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
