Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Grooming & Beauty Devices
Location: Drachten, The Netherlands
Type: Full-Time | Hybrid

About the Role

We’re partnering with a global leader in consumer health technology to find an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their innovation and development hub in Drachten. This role plays a vital part in designing and delivering advanced grooming and beauty products—from early-stage concepts to full-scale manufacturing.

As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to the mechanical design and development of cutting-edge appliances such as shavers, trimmers, epilators, and IPL devices. You’ll take ownership of mechanical modules and components, ensuring they are functional, reliable, and manufacturable at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, prototyping, and refining mechanical components for personal care products.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electronics, mechatronics, system engineering, and industrial design.

  • Leading mechanical design efforts using 3D/2D CAD tools, integrating design for manufacturing and assembly best practices.

  • Conducting tests, writing protocols, analyzing data, and contributing to verification and validation processes.

  • Working closely with internal and external partners to transition designs into mass production.

  • Participating in concept generation, feasibility analysis, and ideation workshops.

  • Documenting technical decisions, specifications, and validation results to meet regulatory and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical product development, ideally in a consumer product or high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools (preferably NX or Creo) and a solid grasp of plastics, metals, and tooling considerations.

  • Strong understanding of design methodologies such as DFMEA, design validation, and V-model development.

  • Experience with prototyping, test planning, and product lifecycle documentation.

  • Familiarity with FEA tools (Ansys, etc.) and knowledge of GD&T standards.

  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across disciplines and drive solutions from concept to final product.

Why You’ll Want This Role

This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, user-focused products in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You’ll have the autonomy to shape product design, influence development strategy, and be part of a high-performing, inclusive team that celebrates both creativity and precision engineering.

If you’re passionate about building tangible, real-world solutions that enhance everyday life—and love the balance between conceptual thinking and hands-on engineering—this could be your next great move.
