About the Role
As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will be a key driver of packaging solutions supporting combination product operations across the global manufacturing network. Working at the intersection of science, engineering, and supply chain, you will lead packaging development projects, provide subject matter expertise, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will also act as a technical advisor on cross-functional projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting global packaging strategy alignment.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead packaging development for late-stage and commercial products. Manage cross-functional projects with internal teams and CMOs, focusing on innovation, compliance, and cost efficiency.
-Serve as the site expert on packaging materials and processes. Support new material introduction, troubleshoot issues, and apply engineering principles to improve packaging performance.
-Optimize packaging processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and meet regulatory standards. Drive scalable improvements and oversee qualification activities.
-Build a global packaging network, lead knowledge-sharing efforts, and mentor junior engineers to support strategic packaging initiatives.
Requirements
-
PhD in a relevant field, OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in packaging development in pharma/medical device industry.

Demonstrated success in cross-functional project delivery.

Strong experience with commercial and clinical packaging processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exposure to supplier management and packaging material science.

Experience with regulatory and GMP compliance in a highly regulated industry.

Ability to adapt quickly and manage competing priorities.

Operational Excellence mindset with a focus on rapid, high-quality results.
