The Role
As a Sterile Production Technician you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment in a cleanroom environment to produce sterile, high-quality medications. This includes filling liquid ampoules, loading/unloading lyophilizes, maintaining strict GMP compliance, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met throughout the process. The role is critical in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, life-changing medicines.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate filling equipment under sterile, cleanroom conditions.
- Load and unload lyophilizers (freeze dryers) as part of the production process.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and make basic adjustments.
- Assist with routine maintenance following engineering team instructions.
- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and health & safety regulations.
- Accurately complete batch records and production documentation. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area, including disinfection processes.
- Report non-conformities and actively support problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Follow personal hygiene and PPE protocols, including being clean-shaven when required.
- Degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g. chemistry, biology, engineering) or relevant hands-on experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, or medical devices.
- Must be clean-shaven or willing to shave on request to meet PPE requirements during cleaning, disinfection, and chloroform evaporation.
- Able to work in sterile cleanroom environments and comply with cGMP, SOPs, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to follow instructions accurately, complete documentation correctly, and contribute to process improvement.
- Willing to work rotating shifts (16/7 or 24/7), including weekends, evenings, and nights, with applicable shift allowances and varying weekly hours.
