Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in Groningen. In this role, you will lead projects related to raw materials and supplier processes that are critical to the manufacturing of advanced medical products. You will work in close collaboration with global suppliers, cross-functional teams, and manufacturing partners. This role offers a strong mix of technical leadership, supplier engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to the production of life-changing healthcare technologies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead material- and supplier-related projects to improve quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance. 
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues with raw materials by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. 
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and implement design or process changes. Ensure supplier capacity meets current and future manufacturing needs, and participate in risk mitigation planning. 
  • Apply technical expertise in plastics, injection molding, tooling design, and metrology to drive supplier performance improvements.
Requirements
  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in supplier, manufacturing, or materials engineering. 
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding, tool and part design, GD&T, and inspection systems. 
  • Experience in a regulated or GMP-compliant environment, preferably in medical devices. 
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus. 
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or project management experience is considered an advantage
