About the Position

We're seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer with a focus on Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) systems to drive long-term maintenance planning and asset reliability initiatives. This role is central to developing and optimizing preventive maintenance strategies that ensure operational stability, safety, and sustainability across the site. The position is available through the end of the year, with potential for extension depending on performance and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for E&I equipment using SAP, aligned with long-term asset plans.
  • Reliability & Asset Planning: Evaluate equipment lifecycle, identify obsolescence risks, and define strategies to enhance reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance practices align with engineering standards, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Join a team of ~15 reliability experts covering various disciplines, contributing to shared goals and reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Lead.
  • Cost Efficiency: Analyze and revise PM strategies to lower maintenance expenditures while enhancing equipment uptime.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in E&I systems within petrochemical or industrial environments; technical degree (HBO level) or equivalent experience required.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of low-voltage systems, ATEX design, IEC 61511 safety standards, and E&I equipment maintenance.
  • Analytical & Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to identify failure patterns and implement high-quality, sustainable solutions.
  • Tools & Systems: Proficient with SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office; basic understanding of predictive maintenance, RCM, and lifecycle costing is a plus.
  • Team & Communication Skills: Strong collaboration and communication abilities in both Dutch and English, with confidence in multidisciplinary teamwork and stakeholder accountability.
